The Center for Haitian Studies, Health & Human Services, Inc. (CHS) will celebrate its
20th Anniversary with an “Open House” on Friday March 27, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.
m. The Open House will take place at its location: 8260 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Miami, Florida
33138.
Founded in 1989, CHS has provided a wide range of culturally competent social and health
services to the most underserved populations of Miami-Dade County for the past 20
years. Services currently provided by the Center include primary and specialty medical
care, health education and disease prevention, HIV education and outreach, as well as
research and intervention to reduce health disparities affecting members of the Haitian
population living in South Florida. In addition, CHS provides medical education geared
toward developing a more culturally competent work force to medical students and
professionals from local, national and international institutions.
