PRIMARY HEALTH CARE SERVICES:  In 1992, under
the AHEC (Area Health Education Center) at the
University of Miami Miller School of Medicine
Department of Family Medicine, CHS began to operate
a free clinic serving low-income, uninsured patients
living in Little Haiti.  The clinic also served as a training
site for medical students and residents of the School of
Medicine.
In 2007, the CHS clinic became an expansion site of the
Miami Beach Community Health Center as a Federally
Qualified Health Center (FQHC).  The CHS/Miami Beach
Community Health Center started as a primary care
clinic and, in less than a year, has become a main
provider of pediatric, gynecological and obstetrical
services.  On-site laboratory services are also available.
The clinic also has a full time HIV/AIDS case manager to
assist patients who are diagnosed with HIV.
