UM/CHS GYN SPECIALTY CLINIC:  
A significant number of low-income women living in   
underserved pockets of  Miami’s Little Haiti/Little River
area do not receive gynecological and obstetrical care.  
The CHS clinic has greatly contributed to  
increasing access to gynecological and obstetrical care
for these women.

CHS is a 501 (c) 3 private non-profit tax-exempt
organization registered in the state of Florida.

FAMILY MEDICINE CLERKSHIP:
During the past decade, CHS had offered culturally competent
clerkships in Family Medicine to medical students from various local
and international universities. These include the University of Miami
Miller School of Medicine(under AHEC), Nova Southeastern
University, The Florida International University, Universite Lumiere d’
Haiti and la Faculte de Medicine de l’Universite d’Etat d'Haiti
In 2007, in partnership with The Miami Jewish Health Systems
(affiiated with The Jackson Health System’s Residency Program in
Family Medicine), CHS began to coordinate a 6-week clinical clerkship
rotation in Family Medicine for 3rd Year medical students from Ross
University School of Medicine.

UM OBGYN CLERKSHIP:
CHS offers a culturally competent clerkship in the   
fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology for
3rd Year medical students
from  the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UM).  
Students are assigned by the Director of Clerkship Rotation at
Department of OBGYN. Students are trained and supervised by
Jean-Baptiste Charlot, MD, FACOG. Dr. Charlot is an appointed
Clinical Instructor for the University of Miami’s Jackson Health
System/OBGYN residency program.

The Center for Haitian for Haitian Studies, Health & Human
