CHS, in collaboration with the Department of Community Service (DOCS) of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine conducts an annual health fair on the grounds of CHS.  This health fair attracts between 300 and 500 members of the community who, for the most part, have no other means of receiving this type of specialized care from the best specialists in South Florida.

In January 2013, the Bascolm Palmer Eye Institute (BPEI) began to organize a series of very successful screening sessions for glaucoma at CHS.  A significant number of adults seen during these screening sessions were being examined by an eye care specialist for the first time in their lives and were in urgent need of eye care.

CHS community health workers also participate in health fairs across South Florida. During these health fairs, CHS staff members distribute educational materials, make presentations, and conduct HIV Counseling and Testing. For information about the next health fair, please contact us at 305-757-9555.

The Center for Haitian Studies (CHS) is a duly registered 501c3 organization, tax-exempt health and social service organization founded in 1988 for the purpose of serving the disenfranchised populations of Little Haiti/Little River in Miami, Florida.
