35 Years of Service: Celebrating the Legacy of CHS

For 35 years, The Center for Haitian Studies, Health and Human Services (CHS) has stood as a beacon of hope, resilience, and healing in the Haitian-American community. What began as a mission to fill a desperate need in Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood has evolved into a trusted medical hub, offering life-changing services to thousands of patients each year.

Through economic changes, natural disasters, and shifting immigration trends, CHS has remained a consistent and vital resource. The organization’s unwavering commitment to culturally competent care and community empowerment has touched countless lives and set the standard for what community health should look like.

Watch this short video commemorating our journey:

As we look toward the future, CHS remains dedicated to removing health disparities, addressing mental health, supporting new arrivals, and serving as a home for compassionate, high-quality care rooted in cultural understanding.

Thank you to our staff, partners, supporters, and patients who’ve made this 35-year journey possible. Here's to continuing this important work—together.
